Its tax filing season once again, and this year the United Way of Pinal County and Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona have teamed up to provide free tax preparation assistance for qualified low-income earners through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) is a program that provides IRS-certified volunteers to do basic tax return preparation and inform taxpayers of various tax credits that they might be eligible for before electronically filing the return.
VITA starts providing assistance this coming Saturday, February 8 at various sites around Pinal County including two locations in Casa Grande — Seeds of Hope Community Center as well as at the Goodwill Store.
Sites also will be set up in Coolidge, at the Coolidge Youth Center; in the city of Eloy, at the Eloy Public Library; the city of Maricopa, at the Central Arizona College campus; and in Sacaton, at the Gila River Government Center.
