Friends and neighbors of an Arizona City family have desperately been searching for a local service dog that went missing on Sunday, Dec.15.
“It is possible someone tried to take the dog,” said family friend Barbara Sanders. “Or it may have just got out after someone kicked in the home’s RV gate.
In either case, the extraordinary canine is a vital family member and service dog to a disabled little girl.
Sasha Anspaugh and Daniel Kemp have lived in the area for a dozen years. The two have a ten year old daughter, Haley, who has Cerebral Palsy and is legally blind. Haley relies on her dog, China, for service and assistance with her disabilities.
Four-year old China is a female German Shepherd, mostly black in coloring with some brown. China requires special care, and is in the process of undergoing specialized training to be a fully fledged service dog.
China’s family resides in the area of Monaco Boulevard and Reventon Drive, in the southeastern part of Arizona City, however the therapy dog was last seen in the area of the Dollar General store on Battaglia Drive and Ventage Road in Arizona City.
A reward is being offered for her return. Anyone who may have seen China or know where she possibly may be is asked to please call 520-280-4644.
“Let’s all work together to bring China home for Christmas,” said Sanders.
To young Haley, the return of such a dedicated service dog would mean more than any words could ever express.
